We are currently recruiting two senior positions for two of our private clients. The first position is for a senior manager to work as the DOE Client Services manager for an environmental engineering firm based in Michigan. The selected candidate would be based in an area with a significant concentration of DOE facilities, such as Oak Ridge, TN.
The second position has no particular location requirements, but the firm's home office is located in Colorado. Both positions require an outstanding record of accomplishment and understanding of the consulting business, either as a client or as a practioner.
The Colorado firm's position requires a good knowledge and understanding of the commercial utility industry and DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The DOE position obviously requires a good knowledge of DOE.
Special Requirements for DOE position:
- This is a engineering company that works in the environmental field. Experience in this type of firm, a non-profit organization, or a related Federal, State or local agency is required.
- Experience working with or for DOE is absolutely required for this position.
- This is primarily a business development and project manager position, and the selected candidate will act as the DOE Client Services Manager for the firm.
Special Requirements for the Colorado-based firm:
- The compensation for this Senior Vice President position is based on sales made and could vary from $0 to $600K in any given year.
- The focus of this position is acquiring business from the Demand-Side-Management programs of utilities and related companies and agencies such as DOE and EPA. Experience in this area is an absolute requirement.
- Since this postion has no base compensation, it is best suited for a person with financial resources and/or recently retired from a utility or related company.
- Substantial travel is required in this position.
Some of the required characteristics for both positions are:
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide senior level project management, outreach and implementation, support for business development
· Build and maintain senior level relationships with clients and key market players
· Develop, track and manage project deliverables and budgets
· Contribute to development of program design strategies and implementation plans
· Provide day to day management of an interdisciplinary team supporting clients and collaborating with teaming partners
· Provide contributions as part of the senior staff
Basic Qualifications:
· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering and/or science
· 10-15 years of experience
Preferred Skills/Experience:
· Experience managing consulting projects in the energy/environmental areas with public and private sector clients, including providing quality control and budget accountability
· Outstanding analytical, writing, and communication skills and excellent interpersonal and management skills are required
· Experience managing client relationships
· Outstanding interpersonal skills, including a talent for collaborating on team efforts under deadlines
· Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and work collaboratively with others
· Experience with energy efficiency programs and knowledge of US policies for reducing total energy consumption
Professional Skills:
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
· Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
· Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team
· Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
· Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
